Robert P. Gaddis

Mr. Gaddis is licensed to practice law in both Texas State Courts and Federal Courts. His practice has primarily been involved in litigating issues relating to insurance agents Errors and Omissions (E&O), insurance coverage and policy provisions, and business issues in various aspects of the insurance industry. Mr. Gaddis is “AV” rated (highest possible) by his peers. Prior to his 30+ years of practicing law, he worked in the insurance industry for about 12 years.

In 1971, after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, Mr. Gaddis went to work at the Houston, office of an international property/casualty insurance company in Commercial Casualty Underwriting. In 1973, he was promoted to Field Representative – Special Risks, where he underwrote Property and Casualty Insurance for the large and complex accounts in that region. Later, he was hired by a Houston-based international insurance agency/broker, where he primarily handled Property/Casualty insurance for oil and gas, construction and other commercial risks, until going into the practice of law nearly 10 years later. While employed in the insurance industry, he commenced the study of law at night. In 1983, Mr. Gaddis entered the practice of law.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Gaddis was called upon to act as the moderator of insurance panels established by the Texas Governor on two occasions, Insurance Panel for the Texas State Convention on Small Business and Business insurance Panel for the Houston Small Business Forum.

Mr. Gaddis has authored articles for both professional publications of the legal profession and for the insurance agency profession, published at both the state level and national level. He has been a lecturer on a number of occasions with topics that include, contractual liability insurance coverage, commercial general liability insurance and insurance agents E&O, to name a few.

Mr. Gaddis’ has had 40+ years experience in interpreting insurance policies. He holds memberships in a number of legal professional associations and is a member of the American Association of Insurance Management Consultants (AAIMCo).
